FirstNet, Built with AT&T
OVERVIEW: FirstNet is the first nationwide network dedicated to public safety. Created to help law enforcement, fire service, and EMS do their jobs safely and effectively.
Due to communications challenges during the response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the 9/11 Commission recommended the establishment of a single, interoperable network for public safety. For years, public safety organizations lobbied Congress to make this recommendation a reality. Therefore, when Congress established the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) in 2012, it based its mission on public safety’s express concerns and desires.
MY ROLE: I worked closely with internal business partners; the brand team on visual element adoption, the Standards team on element and pattern creation/adoption, UX teams on functional design creation, development and product leads as needed. Enhanced the look and feel of the organizational websites and user interface features. Designed website elements (iconography, visual compositions, redlines, static banners, promotional elements, etc.). Created/updated style guides, design templates, and wireframes.
